Privacy Policy

Handpick collects nothing. There is no account, no analytics, no telemetry, and no server that belongs to us.

What Handpick does

Handpick reads the page element you point at, converts it into Figma's clipboard format, and puts the result on your system clipboard. The conversion happens entirely inside your browser.

What we collect

Nothing. We operate no server, no database and no analytics service. We never see the pages you visit, the elements you capture, or anything else about your use of the extension.

What leaves your device

Handpick makes network requests in exactly one situation: reproducing an element faithfully sometimes requires the images and fonts that element uses.

  • Images on the element you capture are fetched from wherever the page already loads them.
  • Fonts are fetched from the page's own font files where possible. If the page's fonts cannot be read, Handpick may request a matching open-source font from the Fontsource CDN (jsDelivr).

These requests go to the sites and CDNs concerned, not to us. They are sent without cookies or credentials. Handpick only makes them for an element you have actively chosen to capture.

Permissions, and why

  • Access to websites you visit — the extension must read the element you point at, and fetch its images from a context that is not blocked by the page's own restrictions. It reads a page only when you arm the picker.
  • Clipboard — writing the converted result is the entire purpose of the extension.
  • Native messaging (Safari only) — Safari's browser clipboard strips the data Figma needs, so the Safari version passes the converted result to its own macOS app, which writes the clipboard directly. That data goes to the Handpick app on your Mac and nowhere else.

Storage

Handpick stores no data on your device beyond what your browser keeps for any installed extension. It writes nothing to your file system.

Children's privacy

Handpick is a developer and designer tool. It is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
